Cooperation and Partnerships

The University regularly collaborates with national and international organisations including universities from other countries. Special effort is made to expand external partnerships and cooperation networks in order to develop sources of funding and to reinforce academic capabilities RUFA fully into the international academic community.

Building Capacity for Human Resources in Archaeology and Architecture

Support from UNESCO/Japanese Funds-in Trust for the Preservation of World Cutural Heitage. Since 1993, RUFA has been involved in the UNESCO/Japanese Funds-in-Trust project 'National Campacity Building for Human Resources in Archaeology and Architecture'.


Thanks to the generours support of the Japanese government, many efforts have been made to build academic and managerial capacity for the university, particularly in the faculties of Archaeology and Architecture.

As the result of the assistance given during the first 10 years, the pedagogical team of the two faculties is now composed of national specialists with solid academic background, supported by appropriate administrative and academic infrastrctures. Students and staff have benefited from basic kills training such as English language and information technology

The library has been enriched with many learining resources and publications. Office equipment is regularly acquired. Most recently the program has assisted the growth of post-graduate studies by awarding several scholarships for studying opportunities abroad, and by developing(in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Cambodia) a Master Program in Archaeology.
